Colonel Brian Musselman

Colonel Brian T. Musselman is the Vice Commander of the 59th Medical Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, whose mission is to provide deployed and home station health care, graduate medical education and clinical research to enhance Air Force mission readiness. This is the Air Force’s largest medical wing composed of six groups across the $1.2 billion San Antonio Military Health System, Joint Base San Antonio, supporting more than 254,000 beneficiaries with 8,400 military and civilian personnel, residents and students.

Prior to this assignment, Colonel Musselman served as the Commander, 628th Medical Group, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, and as the Chair of the Lowcountry Federal Healthcare Alliance, one of only 12 DoD/VA Joint Venture sites in the United States. Colonel Musselman’s prior jobs include Aircraft Maintenance and Munitions Officer; Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps instructor; Aerospace Physiologist; Aviation Mishap Investigator; Air Mobility Command Aerospace Physiology Training Program Manager and High Altitude Airdrop Mission Support Functional Manager; and the 9th Physiological Support Squadron Commander where he was responsible for specialized support and training for U-2S, DoD, and NASA aviators. In 2007, Colonel Musselman served as an advisor to the Iraqi Air Force while establishing the new Iraqi Air Force Technical Training School.
