Chief Master Sergeant KRISTY L. EARLS

CMSgt. Kristy L. Earls is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 59th Medical Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. She serves as the 59th Medical Wing Commander’s Senior Enlisted Leader, overseeing the Air Force’s largest medical wing consisting of over 8,000 personnel manning 6 groups across 4 installations. She is responsible for the health, welfare, morale, and professional development of the wing’s 3,500 enlisted members. In addition, Chief Earls champions the wing’s multi-pronged mission of providing worldwide contingency medical support, home station comprehensive healthcare services, clinical research, graduate medical education, and medical force technical training for 16 Air Force enlisted medical career fields – more than 12,000 trainees per year – to enhance worldwide mission readiness. In addition, she serves on the Medical Education and Training Campus Board of Directors, overseeing 48 training programs and 18,500 graduates annually. Chief Earls also serves as the San Antonio Market Senior Enlisted Leader, advising the Market Director on healthcare delivery and support to 255,000 beneficiaries in 11 Army, Navy, and Air Force integrated medical treatment facilities, with a $1.2 billion budget, in the San Antonio metropolitan area.


Chief Earls entered the Air Force in December 1996 and graduated in May 1997 as a Public Health Apprentice from the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks Air Force Base, Texas. Her background also includes experience as a Professional Military Education Instructor, Career Assistance Advisor, Air Education and Training Command Public Health Functional Manager and Career Field Manager. She has deployed with joint force components in support of operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM and U.S. Southern Command’s New Horizons Training Exercise.


Prior to assuming her current position, she was the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 71st Flying Training Wing, Vance Air Force Base, Okla.
